On this weeks article I will be going over Knot Tying and how to tie them.
The knots that I will be going over are Improved Clinch Knot, Double Uni Knot, Rapala Knote, and FG Knot.
I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the type of knots and when they are best to be used.
This week I’m diving deeper into a topic I’ve touched on before: tides, currents, and how to fish bridges under these conditions.
In the tides I will discuss low, high and slack tides and how this will affect the currents. With these tides and current I will discuss how it affects bait and predator fish.
Also, I will be going over fishing bridges and how to set up on them during different tides and currents.
This week, I’m breaking down the decision process for choosing the right kayak for you and what actually matters when you’re trying to pick one that fits your situation.
I know most of us here already have a kayak, but this one is really geared toward folks just getting into it. So if you’ve got any friends or family thinking about starting out, feel free to share it with them.
As for the direction of the blog, I’m planning to balance beginner and intermediate topics moving forward, probably alternating week to week. The goal is to build things from the ground up and help people improve over time, so a lot of the early content will be more beginner-focused.
This week, we are finally going to dive into kayak-specific information, mainly basic safety precautions. These won’t all be listed in the exact order they should be used, but more by priority, safety, and what needs to become a habit.
The goal here is to help you find your own spots instead of having to rely on someone else to tell you where to fish. This is a broad topic, so we’re going to break it up into parts. In future posts, I’ll go deeper into tides, moving water, and currents.
So to begin, when I’m looking at a new body of water, I’m usually searching for one of three things:
-
Structure
-
Points
-
Ledges
You will get to know me and we will discuss where you would like to go fishing.
We will also talk some about what we will be discussing in the future blogs.
